Who are we?
We are a team of university-trained, freelance translators, interpreters as well as educated native speakers of German, who also happen to be husband and wife. For the past 12 years, we have lived and worked in the U.S., first in California and since 2001 in Colorado, which helped us acquire near-native fluency in English. On the other hand, we continue to maintain our excellent command of German by spending at least one month in Germany every year, watching German TV, reading German newspapers, books, and magazines as well as online publications. While we often work as a team - whether in the German booth as simultaneous interpreters, or as translator/editor for the same project - each of us has his/her special interests and focus, which is translation for Birgit and interpretation for Manfred (click on the link to see our resumes).
Who are we not?
We are not an agency! If your project needs to be translated into several languages, or if you are organizing an international conference for which you need simultaneous interpreters for several language combinations, you should contact a translation and/or interpretation agency.
How can we help you?
You should definitely contact us, when:
- Your software, technical documentation, book, website and/or other documents/material need to be translated into German. We do work together with other excellent translators and use translation memory tools, so even if your project is quite large we can still guarantee reasonable deadlines. And since our overhead costs are minimal, we can offer you lower rates than translation agencies, without sacrificing quality (for more information, please call, fax or email us).
- You are looking for German interpreters for an international conference/seminar/event.
